It seeme we’re not needed, right now. Fact is, You either haul it for the best rate you can get. Or You don’t. It’s a choice. Rate per mile blah blah blah. That’s what I think about Rate per mile. Bottom line is net revenue after fuel cost, and the amount of work and aggravation involved. Add a little for maintenance. Very little, since things wear/ fail when Parked, anyway. If the Trucks not working, it’s costing money. All the hypotheticals in the World won’t change that fact. No revenue plus Overhead, it becomes a Liability. Anyone who thinks they’re Important is in for a rude awakening.
WE ARE IMPORTANT!

Enjoy the high rates, once I’m back to work, they’ll go down. Lol

understand you are running a business, still have a driver mentality. The problem is there are
so many like you, who make the brokers very happy and the rest of us sad. -
Then do learn this...I am sure I netted 3000 that day, that week after trip, I did not have any expenses until May the 3rd when my trailer payment was automatically drafted. Got it?
Since you are a constant learner, learn this now:
When someone is saying that he netted x amount after fuel and tolls he does it only for the purpose of indicating the costs and proceeds of the very trip performed. To isolate the very trip characteristics. We are not talking of all costs involved in the whole year.
Next time assume that by saying that someone netted $3000 after fuel and tolls, it is meant nothing more and nothing less. You are not the only one who knows that there are other expenses than fuel and tolls. I hope you realize that.Last edited: Jun 9, 2020
