Weight problems of dry van load

    I have the tandems all the way forward and this what the cat scale showed
    Steers 11680
    Drives 32140
    Tandems 34740
    Gross 78650

    My though was to slide the tandems back a couple of holes would this make my load legal

    Yes, always slide toward the "problem". May have to slide back 4 holes .

    I tried three holes and ended up having 35000 on my drives as I mention two holes because I just need the load legal and was under the impression that each hole moves about 500 lbs or so I think

    You must have moved the WRONG direction. Any trailer set movement from the original location, towards the rear of the trailer, should have lightened the trailer and added weight to the drives. 2 or 3 holes would have been fine if you had moved in the correct direction.

    First make sure your all the way on the scale correctly.

    Sliding back 3 holes should have done it. Slide toward the heavy. Your butt is heavy so slide back. Maybe even two holes. Not all trailers are the same each hole can be 250 to 500.

    No he didn't he moved too far. He started with too much on the trailer tandems and egress up with too much on the drives. So he went the right way but went too far.

    It depends on what trailer manufacturer. Some have smaller slider holes that are closer together...220/hole while others have bigger holes that are farther apart. 420/hole.

    Yeah the next time I was on the scale where it was 11222 on the steers 35020 on the drives and 32220 on the tandems and gross didn't change by much and it doesnt help much when I am using a reefer trailer for the dry van load

    Slide your 5th wheel forward one hole and your trailer tandems forward 1 hole, then weigh again.
