I took a county road off of I70 somewhere in Indiana when I first started driving. I70 was closed due to a wreck and my exit was 5 miles away to the truck stop. I found a way around on Google maps, checked it in my atlas, and took it. It was a 2 lane beautiful country road, only problem was it had a 5 ton bridge with a sign posted literally 1000 ft beforehand with nowhere to turn around. Who comes up with this trash??

Glad I’m not the only one unhappy with how things are set up lol.

it’s even more fun when they give you directions then you call about a bridge and they say “what bridge”

Yeah, some towns put the truck restriction signs after you've made the turn and no place to turn around.
It can be a money grab when the town places a policeman hiding a couple hundred yards ahead waiting for the trucks.
There was a place in East Tennessee like that. The fine money went to the little town. A trucking company owner ran for office in that area and won. His trucks were being harassed daily with tickets. He had the law changed that all fines went to the directly to the state. After that, no more truck tickets because the town wasn't getting a cut of the money.

Or they say, "All the trucks use that bridge, so come on."

That's the most common answer! When I was a kid, "but everyone else does it!" was never an excuse. Now it seems like the most common excuse LOL!

Yup.......he is magical. Kind of like a unicorn. I know that because the people on the news tell me it's true. He is truly wonderful.

    You run into him too?
I come this way a lot I kind of like it.
Roads are not as bad as Alabama and I’m sort of familiar with the area I grew up just a little ways north east.
