I was driving a 2005 Volvo, with the Volvo engine. Loaded, with the cruise set.
Pulling a hill and suddenly the Jake brake comes on. I can't answer why or how this
could happen, but it did. One moment the engine is pulling and the next it is
trying to pull while it is jaking. The truck is shaking and making lots of noise. The
jake lasted for maybe 20 seconds and than cuts off. The engine starts pulling just
fine, no flashing lights. Suddenly the jake comes on again. It did this off and on for
maybe 30 minutes. Gradually less and less till it seemed to be fine again.

I drove that truck for at least a half year after that and it never did it again. The
only thing I can figure is whenever I would get that truck washed it would
sometimes throw a fit. I wondered if that big wiring harness plug , where the
wires go through the firewall, got moisture in it and shorted out. I had washed
    the truck several hours before.

Weirdest issues I had were on the first prostar I was driving. go to push the clutch and the air horn blew. hit the brakes and the wipers would come on. if the lights where off, my blinkers were flipped but if they were on they worked normal. still have no clue how the he'll that one happens. thankfully it's not my problem anymore

Volvo probably 2004. I-76 from NE to Denver it was bumpy like a hell in 2005. Two cops sitting on the median have relaxation conversation. 2 AM. Suddenly my truck start flashing high-low beam and all flashers. I pulled over and see in my mirrors from both sides cops running with guns ready.
We have some good laugh, later.

POS 5th wheel. Threw it's container off coming off the Susequenna Bridge Southbound on 95 in Maryland. Dam box fell onto the aft bogie drives and stayed on them (Thankfully, it would have killed so many cars around us in heavy rush...)

I wondered about that Ford 9000 day cab now and then, that was the last time we had it around the shop.

Company I'm leased to has a fleet of Volvo company trucks. A couple of years ago, one of them developed a problem. We'd be working in the shop and this truck sitting in the yard, and the horn would honk repeatedly with various lights flashing, etc. No one anywhere near the truck.

It took them a few days, and I don't remember now what it was, but they finally got the problem fixed.

Going down the road in the Volvo, it dies. Check engine lights, buzzers, the
whole deal. Engine cranks great but doesn't even sputter, nothing. Called the
Boss, he said count the beeps and lights, they are actually spitting out a code.

Book says there is an ABS fault. So called Service....be a couple hours.....
so we start brain storming. Boss says what about those little red wires
coming off the battery.......why didn't I think of that......pull the side
fairing off.....battery cover comes off.....sure enough, one of those
little wires has come undone. Put it back on, truck fires and runs
    great.

I have something funny going on with mine, a squeal coming from the driveline. It sounds somewhat like driving through a wooded area full of bats. You can really hear it driving over a bridge next to a jersey wall.

My first thought was the carrier bearing, but this has been going on WAY too long.

The Cascadia I was issued was fine the first week I had it with the trainer. The next week when I was solo the gremlins came out. Started cutting power to the cab, lost all gauges, lights etc etc as it continued to restart the power. Didn't cut of the engine thankfully. I was in city traffic when it happened. Scared the crap out of me. Progressively got worse by the end of the week. There were some other issues with the truck so I had to roll around town in a daycab for a few days until everything got fixed.

Knock on wood its all fixed as I'm heading out tomorrow for Omaha.

I was in a small town in ky
I hear a guy on the cb call out my company name and say I have a flat steer.
Then he does it again using my first name!
There was no other trucks around and I didn't have a flat steer.
But I pulled over to look
    Everything fine
Five miles later, I blew a steer.
