Everybody thought that the cheating log book days are over. They are not.
Just spoke to my friend who works at a "white Volvo Chicago outfit".
So here is what they do now. The ELD people (creators and administrators) are located in a Eastern European country. When trucking dispatcher needs to adjust driver's log, he calls that Eld company 24/7 support line and the Eld app employee makes the adjustments.
    This service costs extra.
Since they are located in a different country, there are pretty much no chanses, that they will ever get busted.

The drivers log will still show edits that the carrier must be able to explain right?

I have no idea how theses 1099 flip flop wearing ELDs work.

    bzinger and rachi Thank this.

Nothing will show. It's the ELD company itself doing the changes. They clean everything up nicely

I figured it wouldn't take long for ways around it... Keeps them on level playing field with all the guys who boast about being on paper logs....

14 hours is already way to long of a day. Bless these guys who wanna work more than that!!!

    "this service costs extra"

    Follow the money.....

I always thought it would be the truck "ghosting" the ECM and GPS inputs to the ELD, but the Euro's have about 7 years of head start on us getting around e-logs, not surprised they have a working system.

    Coffey Thanks this.
