"Partnered" meaning the Gov provided the money and Werner provided the empty promises of a job.
The issue that strikes most of us not how many Veterans Werner helped out, it is how much help did Werner give them with the money they got from the government. How far did our tax dollars go to helping out veterans, that deserve the help, vs helping out Werner that doesn't. If Werner was offering training for a career, it is obvious by the numbers, Werner did not offer many of these drivers a real career at their trucking company.

And you don't think 3100ish a year is bad????? Doesn't sound real helpful to the vet or his family.
Helpful to werner's bottom line -

I was in the veterans apprenticeship program at tmc. There is a caveat to the program that if the driver is making enough money that he/she would be tracking towards $52k a year over the course of a full quarter then that driver is then processed out of the program and given their so called "certification". Which the programs certification means nothing other than to say that they successfully completed the program. The cert is worth nothing. I was proceed out at the end December 2014 because I was averaging $1100 gross per week

These programs are like racism. There are some who want to claim it is rampant. But if any come along that might offer an alleged solution to the alleged problem, they will immediately be dismissed and impugned ... by those who want to keep their power and income stream alive by perpetuating "the problem" and keeping it alive and in need of more financial support by any means possible.
These training programs don't want to produce viable long-term truckers who will succeed. What? Are you crazy?
And ultimately, the saddest part is that the [trainer] carriers themselves have figured out a way to profit from short term "workers" (revolving door model). So this collusion between carrier and carrier-sponsored and/or operated training wings is here to stay. They are both dependent on the other for survival. It's a symbiotic relationship, but it's a very sick, perverted and incestuous one.Last edited: Feb 19, 2017
