Schneider will suck the life out of you, but Werner will ding you for safety issues that are not real. If possible, I would avoid both because they are public corporations and are more interested in stock price than driver quality of life.

Oh, they will both suck the life out of you. They are both mega carriers, after all.

If you have to, get in, do your two years, and sell your experience to someone who actually appreciates it.

My husband started Schneider right out of CDL school and left before he even finished training, decided to go to Werner, was there for 2.5 yrs, they are not perfect and the pay is low, there were some things happening the last few months so I insisted he looked for a better paying company, when he left he was only making .42 per mile....he went with another major co and he was fired last week, we both researched for months on what co to go with before he decided which was the better fit for him....well we were very wrong, my point being on this post is it is good to get feedback but we have learned what may be good for one person, may not be good for another....keep doing research, read reviews on Google, indeed etc, and when reading company reviews, make sure it is a truck driver review and not a personnel ..if you have any questions about Werner feel free to PM me...it may not be the best co, but it is good for a first job....and I want to add my husband is in his late 50s and has never been fired from a job, laid off, yes, he was in the oilfeild before this, and this last downturn went on too long so he had to find a new career, when you get in your upper 50s it is harder to get hired, and this seemed like the best option, now just to find the right fit for him...again, like I said Werner is not perfect but if not for the low pay he would go back....again every one sees different co in different ways.....

Ever had one of those days or weeks that everything goes wrong???? He had a bad week, 2 incidents in 1 week,...

Now to top it off he has 3 incidents on his Dac and will not be able to get hired on anywhere, it is a bad situation, put about 10 apps in this week, 5 called back, 1 said they cant hire him and the other 4 did not call back after they received all his info.....looking into smaller local companies now....his MVR is still perfect not tickets, no accidents etc etc, it's the darn DAC that is killing him...
