Freight volume is very customer dependant...some times of year are better than others in any region...and of course rates vary.....if you are talking coast to coast produce--it has always been a very fickle situations---that many still seem to deem worthwhile---but the only folks consistantly doing well with it---are those with solid yearlong contracts to the same customers.....and of course most of those yearlong contracts are just resigned from the year before---just as a for instance one of my best friends outfits picks up 3 loads a week of romaine for Wendy's going to 2 different east coast Sygma's.....Flat rate +floating fuel guaranteed-----had the same 6 trucks(2 rounds each a month)on it for 15 years now
