I don't know how many have signed to fight Western, hopefully many.I sued a company an won and ill do it again and again if a company does me wrong. One thing bad about sueing companies is it takes too long before it comes to service.

If the drivers could pull this off , it may set a precedent within the industry
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
I'm torn on this one too -
One hand, the "sue everyone" mentality.
Other hand , boy - some of these companies antics . . . -
Western Express trainers are only allowed to run their students ( new cdl ) , refresher ( experienced but nothing recent )
and eval ( recent experience ) 50 hrs a week . That's 7 hours a day now.
I started orientation on May 19th.... 2 days unpaid ....and did the rest of the week in their flatbed load securement.
Load securement pays $50 per day .
Time on the road pays $53 per day....and I got a full weeks settlement of 7 days.
I would rather they paid road time with trainer more like other companies do...and I think a 7 HR day is
not good for conditioning a new driver for 11/14 70/8 lifestyle . -
Refresher drivers don't have a trainer. They run team with another refresher driver in your class for a set amount of miles. then they are ok to go solo. Basic topics like how to fuel was not covered. To clarify, the prompts the fuel pump asks you. pump asks for unit number, trip number, etc. I put trip #2, since it was my second trip. the fuel system didnt like it. I asked my DM what to do. She asked me who my trainer was. I told her I didnt have a trainer, just give me the needed info so i can get off the fuel island!
Gilpin and jerseyguy71 Thank this. -

So to keep everyone updated, this is the timeframe laid out by the court to date. The initial filing was in January 2014.
Motion to Amend Pleadings due by 8/15/2014. Discovery due by 7/31/2014. Dispositive Motions due by 8/15/2014. Signed by District Judge Aleta A. Trauger on 4/4/14 -
I have been told that the plaintiffs are being required to be disposed in Nashville, TN. so that will take place in august and into september. It sucks that we need to take off of work, and western express won't pay for our lost wages or travel costs.
