Carter Express has their own cdl school in Anderson, Indiana.
They haul auto parts mostly, out of Laredo, Texas. Maybe some of their drivers are on this forum and can fill in the blanks.
According to drive4carterexpress.com
When you attend training at one of our certified partner schools, Carter Express can sponsor you which includes covering 100% of the tuition costs or offering a tuition reimbursement program. Once you have secured your CDL, Carter Express has a six-week paid training program to prepare you for a successful new career.

Chinatown and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -
Otherwise, I do not think yard trucks require CDL as long as you don't go out on public roads for fuel, or to spot trailers in different lots. I say this because there is a one-armed yard driver at Atlanta Bonded in Kennesaw, GA, who has been there for years.
EDIT: Everything I just said is suspect, if there is no lifting requirement for a CDL. I will leave it up only because I don't know if it might actually be true in some states. Do your homework for your state.Last edited: Aug 17, 2020

- In custom harvesting on a farm or to transport farm machinery and supplies used in the custom harvesting operation to and from a farm or to transport custom harvested crops to storage or market
- Beekeeper in the seasonal transportation of bees

- As a private motor carrier of passengers for non-business purposes
- To transport migrant workers

Check with the state DMV before you sign up for school or whatever.Farmerbob1 and SoulScream84 Thank this.
