Actually, yes. Every time it rains and I come in the next morning and head out. The brakes squeal like a stuck pig !

It could be rust jacking. The steel they make the drums out of will show surface rust in a very short time...especially in southern humidity. That minor surface rust gets between the drum and the shoes and allows some lack of contact. After a few brake applications, the rust is gone.

I drive a 2021 Cascadia and my brakes have squealed since I was assigned to it 10,000 miles ago and it only has 28000 miles.

You have a gift! God I wish I could get all of my brakes to squeal. It's a good thing. When you are coming to a stoplight it's like blowing the horn for that jerk that wants to cut your stopping distance by 1 more car length.

    I'm certain they're probably glazed.

We haul underground utility piping (water/sewer/electrical conduit and related items. Our trucks are frequently maxed out (around 30,000 lbs) with (4) layers of heavy ductile iron pipe. We service all of Middle Tennessee where it is very hilly. So the brakes on our trucks take a beating. For sure !

I thought that as well. The think that concerns me is the amount of time (brake applications) that it takes until they FINALLY stop squealing.

I would think if it was "just" surface rust the squealing would go away in few applications. It does not. It takes many applications until the squealing stops for the day. Almost like the brakes need heated up to make it stop.

LMAO !!! Actually, it is SO loud that I do see how long I can get them to squeal ! Lol ! When coming to red lights, you can modulate the pedal to KEEP them squealing or just push a little more to make them stop. You outta see the looks I get when it's squeal like a freight train coming to a stop at red lights! Cheap entertainment ! Lol ! I gotta get it on video. :>)

Do you replace your pads, rotors, and calipers when your car squeals?
