I've been driving between Phoenix and SoCal almost daily for the past 5 months and it occured to me that I haven't seen a single Swift day-cab in that time. I see plenty of Swift sleeper trucks but no day-cabs. Anybody know why Knight er I mean Swift stopped running the shuttle?
Drove for Swift for 14 months across '06 and '07. I was out of Fontana and tried to get on with one of those, but denied. Fast forward to now and I still see at least 3-4 Swift daycabs parked at the Vega TX Allsups at 2am when I'm coming or going from running my 2-3 tankers on my own dedicated trip between Hartley and Denver metro. They seem to be running strong between the ABQ and what I think is the OKC terminal(40 freeway runs, so). But still kind of weird to hear the SoCal-AZ shuttle no longer doing anything all of a sudden.
My thoughts exactly! And it not all of a sudden, I litterally haven't seen a Swift shuttle since I started this gig in Oct 2020.
IDK, I'm frequently at the Jurupa Valley terminal and see tons of day cabs there. Also, there's a DHL shipper in Rancho Cucamonga that I commonly pick up loads from. I often see Swift day cabs there. And, running in the West, it isn't uncommon to see a day cab at a terminal or on the road. So, unsure why you keep missing them. In my experience, they are definitely out there running around.
alot of daycabs at jurupa.are on the walmart account. some go to Las Vegas and back.. haven't heard of the relay between pheonix and fontana has stop.
What I'm saying is that I have not seen a single day-cab running between Phoenix and SoCal. I don't see them parked @ Desert Center either.
