I've had L4-L5, L5-S1 discectomy and fusion, twice, due to bone spurs that grew on my vertebrae, caused by motor vibration.Just got back in a truck after being down 11yrs.

The ‘05 Mack I just came out of had about 750k on the original trans with no issues at all other than being on the 2nd clutch.

Therefore I for one resent being dumbed down to some other non-driving screwup’s lowest common denominator.

can you just agree the #1 reason for auto trucks becoming the new norm is to get more new drivers in the seat without having to teach them how to shift, because it's true.
not because it's better on a guys knees or any other reason...

I have no issue with that presumption in relation to highway freight hauling. it sure isn't the case in oilfield, off road, or heavy haul.

With the new trucks, the newbies have to have autos...or else they would have to take their left foot off the dash and put their flip flop back on to hit the clutch.

What are you talking about....are you saying that 05 was an auto or that it was not an Eaton manual?
