Had a Hurst 5 mated to a hemi 5.9 in a quad cab, it was a custom order from around the 2001 period by the previous owner. I think all in 25000 dollars. Overloaded now and then with cut wood on big tires in the back, it got totaled not too many years ago. I think the salvage auction sold it really quick and it's more than likely still on the road somewhere.

Reman 10 spd manual $3000 plus new clutch$1000, labor $1000. Roughly, easy $ 500077fib77 Thanks this.

I like the 13 spd for the reason it requires less shifting. But If an automatic must be had, I want a high stall torque converter and a performance shift kit with 456 or higher rears. So I can burn rubber from a red light.
Dale thompson and Sirscrapntruckalot Thank this. -
I rather learn how to run this business and become independent than complaining about this nonsense. sorry!!
Truckermania, homeskillet and Socal Xpress Thank this. -
I was glad I had my manual shift the other day when I had a electrical short and my truck wouldn’t start, was parked on a incline and just rolled down the hill and dumped the clutch, saved me a road call... I didn’t like the dt12 but I Am pretty crazy for the ishift, has to be the one with manual mode tho and not the cheap mega fleet option that won’t let you manual shift up or down, has to have performance mode..
Truckermania, beastr123, Socal Xpress and 3 others Thank this. -
This latest truck I bought is a 2019 680 X15 with the endurant 12sp. Driver has 30+ years with a manual. Turns out he’s in love with it. Said it’ll no doubt extend his driving career.
I was pretty impressed. Also gained about .4 mpg which is nice. -
I had to repower a load from another driver who's transmission had issues (actually think it was the grade gripper not releasing). When they tried to crank it to release the brakes so he could roll it out, it was locked in gear and wouldn't crank...the tow guy had to roll around in the mud to pull the driveshaft, and run air off his truck, just to pull the truck out so he could hook it up right. I had to wait an extra hour while he fought pulling the shaft. If it were a manual, it would have never happened...technology failed and only complicated things.PoleCrusher, Dino soar, MACK E-6 and 1 other person Thank this.

Yeah! Why should we have all these gears? They just overcomplicate the transmission too. Direct drive ftw
