Now it says it's 21 miles.

    The OM is calling LANDSTAR.

They aren't going to start misrepresenting the trip distances.

    It said 20 miles.

    Got Loaded!!

Then... the shipper had the nerve to say, “The customer REALLY needs this load, get it there ASAP.”
Me - “F ‘Em. They could’ve had it there this morning.”

Ah, it feels good to have the last word and the nerve to say what you mean.

    Appt time 1030.

Me: Reads the excellent reviews of fast and early unloading and shows up at 0530.

Guardshack: Bring back your paperwork at 1030………well, at least they have parking.

Me: Unknowingly hits snooze and wakes up at 1030, not 1000. Crap. Goes to get checked in.

Receiving: We will call you with a door. We are very busy and trying our best.

Me: Walks back to truck defeated wondering why you let all these people in gate? Overbooked? Or did we become FCFS and screw the appointments?

They are even making the poor Yellow LTL guy wait. And his compressor is going off every 19.7 seconds in his old Mack. Yes I timed it.

I love calls from dispatch companies. They must be used to foreign drivers who know nothing and have to have their hand held every step of the way.

I told him no thanks and he said I have to admit waking up every morning and booking loads is a lot of work. No, no it isn’t. I book myself days in advance with how and where I run. I got a system that works well for me. Guy was shocked, almost speechless as he stuttered trying to get through his sales pitch. I told him the short miles I run but when he asked about revenue, told him thats my business.

Nice Indian guy. I declined the email for future needs and as I am telling him to have a good weekend, he hung up on me. Reason # 15,439 why I despise foreign workers in this industry.

I know, I know. I’m racist for discussing the reality of what is. I am supposed to stick my head in the sand or up my rear and accept everyone as a good, well meaning individual………since they show their sincerity on a daily basis. o_Oo_Oo_Oo_O

Funny story. My girlfriends best friend is from India. We share many laughs over the same things. She knows the reality of it. Does this cancel out my racism?????
