Luck of the draw back then. You drove what the man pointed to on the yard. He tried to starve you out. Went and come in the old thing, then he tried to run you to death. Neither worked. So he gave you a new truck; said, keep the discount but don't bump the ticket. Long as he gave me a fast/powerful truck, I gave him miles..

And you foolishly went in truck driving, not into provisioning them. Shame...
A ship candler/Chandler (spelling) makes more/easier than the ship operator and sleeps on dry land every night

Big stout trucks the Jimmys were. Dixie Hiway Express, Livingston, AL ran 650 Jimmys , NO to B'ham steady. We always said, it they would have run like they roared, they would have outpaced the word of god. Don't know what engine was in them, as we were gas IH. Notice you changed jobs to avoid a
binder, stalk cutter, farmall, made truck. Sad.

Johnny came in home at daylight from playing in Memphis joint's. Daddy counselled him: Quit that music thing and get behind that mule and make something of yourself. No future in that. Daddy did not know best....

Being physic is an excellent trait for advancing in truck driving. Rogers Rule..
"Do them just before they do you, but harsher.."
