Actually have a theory on this, was talking with a buddy of mine about millennials and the whole woke thing being an actual thing. So, I think it started about 1984. Was taking a summer class in college called swimming for fitness and it was being taught by one of the football coaches and he was talking about his son when he complemented him on some sports activities, he popoff that he knows he was good at it. Coach said he's good but not that good at it and went on to say kids were getting trophies for even coming in last place. He said his son had a wall of trophies. Coach said hay I get you want to talk positive to kids but there has got to be a limit. He did not call them participatory trophies but that is what they are called now.
OK now this kid was 11-12 years old at the time. So, his birthday was about 1974-1975 and let's say he has kids at about 22 years old and that would be around 1996 making a second generation of let's be positive, not hurt anyone's feelings, don't spank them and give them trophies for showing up and being in last place. This second generation is now 26-27 years old, and they have no F###### clue what a meritocracy is. We are dealing with a second-generation problem and folks we are just F###ed.
