alcohol loads arent bad. Lot of paperwork. Extra few sheets showing alcohol tax paid.

You sir are correct. I like to think I’m smooth and steady, but I’m always willing to be better. And what better way to learn than learn a new pucker factor.

They’re probably not used to having a driver know how to do the job properly. Obviously you do.

That load sucked the worst of any I ever hauled. Was doing a favor for a friend, he had a load going to within an hour of my wife’s folks place, and they had a family gathering planned that she wanted to go to, he asked if I would run it, I said sure, why not, find a decent backhaul though. He called me several hours later, there was a ton of these AC units coming back to within 1/2 hour of my house, and the rate was decent. Whole run went all sideways. Broker for the ACs was a total nut case, sent dozens of emails in 2 days, I told him when he booked the load I was gonna park it for 2 days after it was loaded, he (the broker) said no problem. Then within 3 hours of me parking it, he called furious that the load tracker wasn’t moving. Duh, dude I told you I’m gonna park it. The receiver is waiting on it! Uh, no they aren’t, I called them, and they said no rush, anytime in the next week is fine. Broker: I am gonna need to send you a link to track your phone. Me: um no. You have a tracker on the load, a tracker to my iPad through trucker tools, you absolutely WILL NOT track my personal phone. (I even did him a favor and cleaned his arteries out by leaving the truck at an in-laws place, and spending 2 days at a cabin with them. So my load tracker, and trucker tool tracker were reading like 30 miles apart.) he threatened to report the load stolen, I again reminded him that I had told him I was gonna park it, he could just pretend I was taking a reset. He (or one of his staff) called me every hour, for those 2 days, to find out why I wasn’t moving. I shut my phone off. Finally left, made it to OH, got a ticket for being 9’ 9” wide inside Columbus city limits.:( I had actually checked we were ok before running straight through town, it’s not more than 10 minutes difference to grab the beltway. Turns out, permit is a blanket for farm equipment etc, and the officer refused to accept it for an AC unit, “because clearly it isn’t good for AC units.” I hate OH. However he would accept the permit on 270, just not 70. He escorted me back and I got off with a $156.00 ticket. Not to bad. I called in to pay the ticket as soon as we get home, and the only way you can pay, is through their online portal. No exceptions. So I sat and fiddled around online for about two hours, worst nightmare of a process I’ve had for a long time, put my credit card information in, clicked process, and thought it was over. About a month later, I get a notification from Discover, that a public file has been found in my name. Interesting. I looked up what this so-called file was, and discovered it was a warrant for my arrest, for failing to pay a fine, and failing to appear in court.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: Somehow, that stupid computer system had not processed my payment entirely, and it was still hanging as pending. After a 30% up charge due to a late payment, I paid the ticket, and they canceled the arrest warrant. I hate OH! And when I got to the receiver to unload, the guy in charge growled about not being ready for the load, and I had to wait almost half the day to unload. Then the broker threatened to not pay because I hadn’t delivered it within 20 hours of it being loaded. Rotten load all the way around. I haul exclusively for my own customers, absolutely no brokers ever involved, no way I would deal with knot heads like that knuckle dragging fool every day. Rant over.

We did a quick cleanup on about an inch of snow. Now I have first world problems, more champagne than fridge. Three clients gave me bottles before they bugger off to the Caribbean for two months IMG_1158.jpeg this puts the house count on these at 7. I got to start drinking more frequently

I used to haul wax emulsion up to Kalamazoo. One winter the internal vale leaked and backed the discharge pipe up all the way to the external. It’s not fun laying in the snow at 4 degrees heating a stainless steel pipe with a map gas torch.

Tried to institute champagne Tuesday, once a month with the missus. I missed Wednesday work and didn’t do much on Thursday either. Getting out of practice

Is it ever fun to lay in the snow at 4 degrees. I personally don’t think so. But I could be wrong.
