What was you on. One of the interstates?
Might have been on AR14 out of Newport on up toward Oil Trough and Salado to 167 on into Batesville. Used to be a short stretch coming south
into/near Oil Trough where the sign said "Road Narrows". It really did and was the old reddish paving they used way back. Sort of a wide one lane or a lane and a half you shared. Going on north up near the Greasy Bend Off Road Park you had kinda got the hang of it.
Did not bother us much then. Old gas trucks, 5 on one stick (5th OD), single speed axle. But I have beat the posted speed limits up in there quite a few times. You need to run down in there more often and get a little more detailed knowledge of the area. Kinda like muscle memory, comes back.

First nice flat straight stretch out of Gilmore to Tyronza had some village like place with a POLEESE car. Not a soul in sight; even the dogs slept and if you hit 31, he had you. Think they finally nailed him but he prolly "retired" rich for the day... 56/57.

I ran Arkansas backroads. They were paved. Pete pulling a 53ft flat. Grabbed a handful of gears, mashed the motor & flipped the jakes on. Just like the Oregon coast roads. Except up here we pulled a 20 ft pup behind a 45 ft. @ 105k. It's just what you're use too.

Kid who wrote the business plan for FedEx and got chastised for spouting such a foolish dream, he came from there. Fred Smith.
Then hold on, stay calm. The greatest swordsman who ever got it on with an intern; in the White Housie, "Slick Willie" Clinton.
And they are the nearest to having one of every mineral in the world there.

Yes to Sam Walton and FedEx. No to Slick Willie, he brought those grifters into the US and settled them in Minnesota. Plus his wife ....... I'm seeing grave stones just thinking about her.

Interstate now. When they four lanes it. The state made them quit writing tickets. Tyrone’s still had a cop but not as many. they come out every now and again. Gilmore don’t.
