Hard to lose a companion of many years, just not there. It is the absence you suddenly become aware of, from whatever you were doing or occupied you. Many time I closed my computer; went into the den expecting to wake my wife from a dozing sleep from a late TV show.
It was still a jolt, several month after her death. Then, still... The time and then the realization there is no need to go into the den now.
Even worse.... Just takes time man; remember the good times, and maybe some antic or situation that really vexed you.
Moves it to memory; not to ever fade out, just spaced a little.

Is that one of those blamed short stick cable shift turds? That's what it looks like my uncle's company had one of those, I would have been perfectly happy to throw burning bottle of flammable liquids at it. If it happens to still be a secret, I HATED that truck. And to top all that off it had a very worn out, I want to say 300 hp cummins, that was maybe putting out about 225.

I could’ve taken a load to Richmond Indiana but it was a later this afternoon one and I’d been caught out. Then after I passed on that load, was asked to be there at 730.
