The only real bad place out of Indy was 70 east. I know because I was there.

Yeah, I was right there when it was starting, I ran out of it for about 10 minutes until for elog safety reasons, I had to stop so it could get caught up tonight.

 

Any time you don't fit the "norm", modern hiring will toss you out before you get anywhere. The trades are STILL a "who do you know" game.

In your shoes, I'd make a list of the smaller contractors, down to one man shows, and see how many of them will let you buy them breakfast for a chat. If they don't see how you can make them money, one of them will know someone who knows someone who needs a guy like you. Keep connecting the dots, and you'll find the place. What you really need is a mentor in your corner that can connect you with folks in the trade, and tell you what's really wrong with you.

Darn shame it doesn't pay worth a frack.
