You all were in the cheap part of the state.

Mom and dad bought the house in 59 gave $2k down and assumed a $10k mortgage. Dad wasn't sure how he was going to make the $75 per month payment. And had a week long yelling fit when the payment, insurance, and taxes crossed the $100 per month mark. Me and my sister will be dumping that thing in the spring for over a mill......

Bought my first place in 89 1200 sft zero lot line (3400 s ft lot) place on the southern east side of San Jose for $190k Dumped it 5 years later for $160k cause the economy tanked and it was time for me to move. Hardware manufacturing had started moving out of the area and major software developers had not kicked in yet. Current estimated value is over $700k

Took me a loss of down payment to figure out the financial/real estate cycles.

I do. An it's good. I'll be in your neck of the woods, start of Feb. Expect me to bug you for any good local spots. ;)

    I do, an it's good.

We got a couple spots here on the sandbar, that are good. Mainland of course has far more options an good stuff. One of the pros of living in eastern NC.

One spot near me...opens at 11am, an closes at like 3pm. Open til it's gone. During the summer I don't even think they make it to 3.

Bit late of a reply, but I'm a busy fella currently.

Be safe folks, an a Merry Christmas to all of you from some sandbar dwelling beach bum snacking on BBQ and building sand castles. ;)

    Thank you Mr. @HillbillyDeluxeTruck ... :biggrin_25519:
I didn't hear anything about it... it affected only regions in Colombia. Didn't get to Brasil...
I am in the state of Rio de Janeiro which is in the southeast region of Brasil. The distance between Bogota and the city where I am, Cabo Frio is about 2,817 miles according to online air miles calculator.

And about 4916 miles by car... including one boat...

If I don't go back living in a truck like I was before, I too will have to buy something to live in.. I don't want to go back paying rent.... but so far... I have no idea where that would be... I keep looking at the map, making notes, reading about places, thinking and thinking about all possibilities.. but nothing really got me "excited" yet...
Hey... gotta leave now.. Going to a Catholic Church.. even though I am not Catholic, I want to watch a Christmas Mass this evening for the first time...
    Y'all take care...
