I went ahead and shifted the text of this particular upgraded warning. The main problem for late tonight say 10 Pm or so will be 75+ mph winds. Now they did not go on to say the source of this wind but if the LLJ (Low Level Jet) has reached us here at the surface during this storm and all feeding into that giant snow eent at Lake Superior on back SW towards Texas then god help us all.

    Areas affected...Central/Eastern AR...Far Northeast
    LA...Northwest/West-Central MS...Far Southwest TN

    Concerning...Outlook upgrade

    Valid 101053Z - 101300Z

SUMMARY...An upgrade to Moderate Risk will occur across
central/eastern AR, far northeast LA, northwest/west-central MS, and
far southwest TN with the upcoming 13Z Convective Outlook.

DISCUSSION...Based on recent guidance, the probability for
significant wind gusts (i.e. gusts at or above 75 mph) to occur late
tonight into early Saturday across northeast LA, central/eastern AR,
far southwest TN, and northwest/west-central MS has increased. This
increase in probability merits an increase to Moderate Risk, which
will occur with the upcoming 13Z Convective Outlook. This expanded
Moderate Risk will include Little Rock, AR and Memphis, TN.

More details regarding the meteorological conditions will be
    available within the outlook.

Gone with the wind would be a easier path.

I also share a distate for Lord High Mucka Much BS Dispatcher when he or she thinks that all the skills they possess don't amount to a major general's worth in a place called Penance. //big time satire...

I can walk on it generally she can drive on it. (Leaving engineering and ground pressure aside for the moment) And adding a dollop of Wyoming with a healthy respect for winter. Any time the hounds howl in the dispatch cubicle, I tell you they are more than welcome to come out here and drive the #### thing. I'll just wait a little while longer.

Other sources are beginning to forecast a evening with 75 mph winds and higher gusts here in Arkansas.

I guess that means in trucking we will have to stop and wait somewhere until the storm front passes and things calm down. Ive learned to balance gloom and doom with changes in a puppy's life with a happy and confusing home. Even I wiped a tear. You will like this one.

My most comical. From a Terminal Manager. “Chains work wonders.”
I had a good Safety Department there. They stood behind my answer to him 100%. As well as other times. Oh... my answer? ... To say that is completely irresponsible.

Terminal Managers do not like to be told, “If it needs to get there so bad, I suggest you go get your CDL, Haz, & Tanker and go get in one of those empty trucks and go get it there, cause if you think I’ doing it, you’re #### outta luck.”

They usually dont know what to say..especially when one wakes you up at 0200 when you made it in at 0100 and are out of hours and he tells you he needs you 280 miles away to load at 0700.
They dont know what to say when you ask if he’s just plain stupid.

I can remember when driving for Western Express. "you have two hours left on your 70. We want you to roll 140 miles"
Nevermind the fact that the truck only does 62 mph on flat ground.

In those days I used to leave a qualcomm message, Do not dispatch me for any reason. Dead man sleeping. I'll be back in touch (Awake) within 20 to 30 hours not a minute before and only when rested etc.

Get me a ungoverned truck so I can see if it's possible, otherwise I just hysterically laugh at the self evident stupidity of dispatcher.

Ive learned its very good to laugh hysterically. Its a very good stress buster at a very basic caveman era level.
