That guy would drive from his house to the terminal and beat on the door no record that way, if you parked within 50 miles he’d pinpoint truck and drive there to truckstop and wake you up
What if it Snows?

Also because of the habit of carriers to pound on the doors all day to my tractor, I tend to get a hotel room on my own with explict instructions to night and day managers that I am well, but need not to be disturbed short of fire or riots. (And I will not be.) The next day is usually paid for cash by me because I know it will be that much sleep before i am rested.
Once I get myself all together again, only then will I function as a company employee again. Not a moment before.WesternPlains, Rocks, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this. -
All it takes is one tired night when they pound in the door, is to bail out with a big maglight flashlight in hand and take off after him yelling profanities, he will run, I chased him across the terminal once in boxers and shower shoes
He ran to office and locked the door.
But that put an end to him waking me up.RidgeRunner731, WesternPlains, Rocks and 3 others Thank this. -
Made it home an hour ago. I rescheduled my Houston delivery for Mon so I can load steel and run to El Paso.

The only thing that would make my job better is if my truck was actually my truck.WesternPlains and Rocks Thank this. -

I think it's best I stay away from precious manager's world. I would be pestering him for 10 new tires giving him a endless migraine. =) //calm teasing.
The last time we had the VP come out to us, wife and I. He sees and detects a laundry bag from both of us ready to go. Makes a side comment that we don't live this way, I told him if you call off the Dispatchers for half a #### day every 6th you wont's see any of this needful past due bs like laundry bags any time soon.
Lo and behold orders were cut. Run the hell out of both of our 70 hours, then let us sit on the 7th day doing whatever we felt the need to do. Keep in mind this was 2000 with FFE. And the famous sit down order benefits us a great deal. YEs they did grumble, particularly Chicago highland, but then again they always grumbled.WesternPlains and Rocks Thank this. -
That usually puts the end to those overnight visits from the boss.WesternPlains and Rocks Thank this. -
