O.k. mother nature, funny joke...on Friday, just before I crossed out of east central Ontario into NY, it was 70°+. Today, on I-70 in MO between the eastern scales and Kingdom City....SNOW!!!!! Not heavy enough to coat the roads (only a little slush in the hammer lane) but enough to cover the shoulder and the grassy areas, and heavy enough to ice up the wipers some.

Back in the late 80’s I remeber that some guy was on TV promoting the wave of the future. Was talking about some of the very things we have today, like smarter phones and things like Alexa. Also was talking about home automation and house robots that would do household tasks.

The interviewer became real interested in the robot idea, started asking a lot of questions about what kinds of things it might be able to do. The science guy said just about anything a person could do, things like cleaning, cooking and laundry.

So the interviewer is really behind this idea, wants one for the house. Asked the science guy what something like this would cost. The science guy said right now, about 100 million dollars, they are prototypes, in a few years, when production models become available, maybe between 8 and 10 thousand dollars. Might be additional costs, but it was a long term commitment.

Thought about that a minute. Here’s the thing, I could get the same thing down at the county office for $45.00

Not to long ago, a friend of mine succumbed to his old lady’s b****hing and let her buy a Roomba (robot carpet cleaner that runs around when everyone’s asleep) — the also have a black lab (Chaka) — make a long story short, Chaka ate a bad bean and developed major G/I issues and cut loose in the house. Zoomba decided to clean up — buddy said they are still finding pockets that they missed — no robots for me.

One time a friend had ferrets. That did not go well because he had to work constantly. So one ferret started leaving deposits around the apartment. Not welcome. I went to the store and bought a spray designed to keep animals from thinking they can make a deposit where it's been sprayed.

Well, I sprayed that corner pretty good. And thought aha. We win. No more presents as the ferret stopped short close to the corner at the edge of the now stinky unwelcome spray zone. It sit there and thought about it a while. 5 minutes later it reversed its position just like a 18 wheeler backed his butt (about 15 inches in body from head to tail..) deep into the corner like a trucker is docking and proceeded to make the deposit. I would think the #### thing smiled too.

In my rage I sprayed the entire living room. Now the ferrets were trapped in the one bedroom where their cage was kept. That did not go well with them poor things.

    I bought one of those.
Very entertaining for my two cats. They couldn’t figure out. It wouldn’t run them over.
