Problem with the snooty places is all the decoration and garnish they insist on using.

If I get a plate everything on it better be edible. I’m not paying for wasted plate space. :biggrin_25510:

I am getting very excited about the Perkins. Oil pan is on. Installed the timing gear. The key to the timing gear kept moving to the rear. So for every 5 mins spent installing the gear on the crankshaft. There would be 15 mins spent with a small tire iron (tire iron was for the old split rims) trying to nudge the key back forward. The gear lined up with the mark from before I took it apart. Goth the timing gear cover back inplace. Yes the engine still turns over after all of this.

When I get back from the bbq today I will probably reinstall the cylinder head. After that I can put the engine back onto the front axle. Then I will put all the fragile fiddly stuff back on the engine. Right now it is a need to get the heavy stuff reattached.

Looking forward to having a farm tractor again. The driveway is in need of help. No, no pics yet. Maybe today after the bbq

Last time we went to a place like that, a long time ago, the food came and the plate looked pretty. As I supposed was the plan. But the trouble for me was I saw more plate than I did food. And it wasn't a giant plate. Paying for overpriced (although very tasty) food that when I leave I'm still hungry just doesn't get it.

I stopped one my way Boston once, at Wrentham, Ma, a little pay to park fuel stop, had a fenced lot across the street.
I asked the guy at fuel stop, which only had chicken, if they were any good place to eat in walking distance, he recommended Luciano’s Italian restaurant, about 2 blocks away.
I walked down there, in long sleeve button shirt, pants, work boots and ball cap, walked in and there was a matradee, since spell check keeps changing, maitre d'.

Anyway, she was nice and asked if table or booth, I told her it didn’t matter, then enroute to a table this old woman, dressed the same, black skirt and blouse, said to me, “I’m sorry sir, we’re closed.” To which the lady leading me to my table stopped and looked at her like “Wtf?” It’s 1630 eastern.
So I said, “Alright I get it.” And I turn to leave, and I heard the old woman say, “I don’t know why these people keep coming here.”
Oh you can bet I stopped, turned and said, “You got somethin’ to say about me, you should put on your big girl pants and say it to me, besides, if you haven’t noticed, we’re both white, and this is an Italian place, I’m half Italian, so youse want talk about you people, like your better than, I’m not some bum, I got enough to pay your salary for over a year, but if you make more than $100, it’d be $100 to dang much.”
I turned and left, went back told the guy at the fuel stop to quit sending drivers down there, and what happened.
He said he knew the manager and he could call and I’d be able to go back, I told him I wouldn’t go back if they gave me the food, maybe if they gave me the restaurant then only to fire the grouch.
So remember, truckers aren’t allowed at Luciano’s Italian in Wrentham, Ma.

l enjoyed having a bike to ride during reset. My favorite was Pilot Denver or TA on the west side. Front Range Trail North/South and East/West under and beside the Interstate. Paved trails, water fountains, bathrooms and benches.
