    Depends on the state but for the most part its overall trailer length. On a 60ft load With a 48ft trailer u can hang 5ft off the back thru just about every state with no permits. So if u could put that extra bit up front with an extended frame it helps u out. Or if u got a 53fter . 3ft off the back 4ft on front will keep u legal thru alot of states .

    Yep not to mention backing up in truck stop with overhang, got to make sure u dont spear the trash can onto the end of ur rebar lmao i may or may not have done that
