So it’s been awhile since I’ve been on the Jersey turnpike. I had an odd experience at a WaWa... too funny and hard to explain, but let’s just say the term “UPGRADE!” was a major part of this couple arguing...and the crowd of Jerseyites watching locked onto that word and starting chanting it back at the couple arguing. I was in tears.

I pushed hard to get out of Ohio and off the 70 and in a rare stroke of trucker luck everyone would take me early...allowing me to load today 32 hours early. Of course the universe will punish me for this is some painful way.

Currently headed back to the great state of California and going to try to get home for a few days. It’s been since April 1st since I’ve been home. And no it’s not the OM forcing me, this truck is a new business and I want to get ahead and stay ahead.

Otter, You are 100% correct. Staying on top of it is easier than trying to dig yourself out.

Production materials can change, but it’s the way tires age and heat cycle. Imagine a tire that sits for 4-5 months in Arizona, and one just 6 weeks old. Much like heat treating steel then quenching it in water a tire can be heat cycled. Each time the tire is heated and allowed to cool it will most likely get harder. The tire that’s in AZ and exposed to summer temps can have a different durometer.

The other part of the issue is UV exposure...leading to rubber degradation and side wall cracking.

All in all, In my experience I always try to get tires from the same batch. It can eliminate some questions, or not.

I raced motocross and then Superbikes. I worked as a tire tech at the tracks and as tire vendor to help offset my racing expenses.

I was told no weights on the wheel with centramatics.
