My wife's birthday is tomorrow as well as my stepdaughters. My wife, again, told me not to get her anything. Instead she want me to paint the inside of the house. I'm not even done with the outside but with the hear and humidity, I'm down to working about 2 or 3 hrs a day. Have all of the trim on the front of the house left along with some repairs and putting in a new front door. So I told her I'll start with the inside as soon as I'm done outside. She asked when that will be and I told her maybe October. She thinks I was kidding and got a good laugh. I didn't think I was kidding. Time will tell.

I used to hate doing Nalco loads. Used to load out of Nalco in Texarkana a lot but most of the time I just dropped the trailer at the yard. Too much B.S. and extra paperwork with their loads.Dave_in_AZ, Sirscrapntruckalot, WesternPlains and 3 others Thank this.

I got paid .287/mile with Matlack in 1996.
Which was a rather competitive wage back then.
But yeah. No seven tenths of a penny for me, either.
No chance of rounding up to .29, either.....Dave_in_AZ, WesternPlains and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
Well.
I got bamboozled..
Made it to West Plains Mo, on my... Journey to some little town Frito...Freetoe?
Frontenac.. that’s it.
Anyways, yes, they’re open 24/7, but I get a phone call, you don’t have to make delivery until tomorrow, The second load is also 24/7, 300 miles loaded like 50 mile DH, but that third place, the one that’s 30 miles from second unload place in MO closes for the weekend, reopens at 1800 on Sunday, that’s my back home load.
So.
Since I was told, “I figured you’d just go home, and leave out in the morning to do this like everyone else does.”
Although, I was told all was 24/7, I have since put a “Stop Work” order in, just ate, and going to start out in the morning.
Question is, 0400, 0500, or 0600, but I will be making a pit stop at Bois d’ arc.
Don’t know if I will eat breakfast, though I used to stop there a ton, but I don’t like eating around what could become sneezing, coughing, itchy water eyes, can’t breathe and so you can’t sleep disorder.
We will start this day over tomorrow.
I should mention, terms, conditions, and eligibility may apply.LoSt_AgAiN, Dave_in_AZ, WesternPlains and 4 others Thank this. -
If you have money to spare and want to help support bringing a steam locomotive back to life.......

On my first dreaded Nalco load, After I got empty on an air offload on defoamer, I had my foot under the hose, felt it jump, shut off internal valve, before I could close the external, the Nalco rep, which surprisingly stayed, told me I couldn’t be empty that fast, it’d only been 20-25 minutes!!
He flipped the switch and cranked open the internal jack, shooting air straight through the line, and blowing defoamer straight out the vent tube and down the tank I was unloading into.
He looked at me and said, “What do we do now?”
me “We? Who’s this we? I shut it down, this all you.”
He turned on a water hose and went and washed the tank down, signed my paperwork and told me to leave.
I told him to write, “No spill by driver” by his signature which he did and I never heard anything about it, but I know if I hadn’t had him write that, he’d have said I made that mess.LoSt_AgAiN, homeskillet, Cattleman84 and 3 others Thank this.
