Used to know quite a few swift flatbed drivers.
That has to be the better choice.

 

The flatbed division is almost like a completely seperate company. Definatly a good place to get ur feet wet with flatbed. I never really hauled anything to difficult.

 

Talk to the recruiter. Ask them if there is any in house work you can do as your strapped for cash. When I was at CR England there was a driver there that was stuffing letters for the company (benefits of if you are a CR England Driver sort of thing). They should be able to help you out.

 

As to your license? You will need a address to get the license. Since you dont live there yet, dont worry about getting it changed. Tho the easiest way is to get a postal box. FFE may have postal boxes you can rent. Yet check with Texas. Some states dont like to deal with a postal box as they require a physical address. The flip side is you could rent space at a KOA Campground. Long term rents are cheaper than short term rents.
