It's worse when you're waiting to load/unload in a place that won't let you idle, but you have your window down because it's a nice day. Apparently ignoring them while you play on your phone or laptop isn't clue enough for some.

We all have to start somewhere unless you're family is in trucking, or you know someone to get you in a clique.

I remember driving for SRT back in the day delivering a load of ice cream someplace in the middle of the communist state.

Some dude pulls up in a 3000 inch WB 379 and stainless steel refer.

    Think I was making $0.40 a mile.

I says," Mind if I ask you a question? What am I do wrong? How did you get this?"

He says, " My Dad started in the 50's. You just have to get to know the customers directly or good brokers."

Yep I agree... Had it not been for being raised on the ranch with access to trucks, and knowing the owners of a few trucking companies, I wouldnt have ever gotten into OTR. I couldn't work under the conditions most megas provide/require.

Meanwhile I grew up around semi-large fleets, and saw multiple failed attempts at O/O. For me I can't envision placing my own money on the line in the current system.

Hasn't that been the truth for years in most industries?
