Stopped at a small corporate fuel retailer for a shower.
This particular one is not a large place, 2 dozen parking spots, only 4 showers. Kind of out in the sticks. That’s OK, because it does not get overrun.
I get set up for shower, wait about 5 minutes for them to call my number. Number called, head to shower. While setting out my products and preparing for shower, I hear a door open and close, the next shower over. Moments later a phone rings, a female voice answers. I can tell this is the person in the next shower. She chatters for a minute, then silence.
I turn on water to get warm. Slide in under the spray, the water pressure dipped for a moment, must be next shower started. After a minute, I began to hear a mechanical device in operation. Sort of like an orbital sander. Thought that was a bit odd. Leaned over towards the wall, the sound was from the shower next over. The sound continued for several minutes. I also heard some sounds that seemed to be human, kind of a mumble. I had finished my shower, dressed and gear put away and left. Now my question is, would it have been the polite thing to offer her a cigarette and a drink?
