Well I ran out of enrgy after 3 hours of tinkering on the jungle gym (tractor). The last time the tractor had run? I raised the arms and rotated the bucket so the opening is flat on the garage floor. That way the hydraulics could lift the front axle and put a jack stand under it to get the flat front tire fixed. I didnt realize that was the last time the tractor would be running. So now the liftarms are higher than where the hood would be. Making for a interesting propositon to work on.
Otherwise the cute little exhaust manifold had to be removed to allow the injector lines to fold out of the way when the head is removed. There was no polite way of draining the radiator. The drain plug is blocked and access to the plug is miserable. So I removed the lower radiator hose. The three gallons of fluid, only one of it ended in the bucket. The rest is getting absorbed by kitty litter. The exhaust studs came out on three fo the four studs with only one nut acutally unscrewing correctly. The injectors had to be removed as well as they were blocking access to six of the cylinder head bolts.
I ran out of steam when trying to loosen the rocker arm shaft on the fourth bolt. Seems that one nut will require a six point socket as the edges wont let it rotate with a twelve point socket. Some one has been in there before as many of the nuts have been replaced with nyloc nuts. The originals are a taller nut.
Sorry no pictures. Maybe later when my back isnt so sore.Farmerbob1, otterinthewater and tucker Thank this.
