Looks fun to me... I love crawling around the mountains, listening to the engine and drive train work like they are meant to.

I hate installing carpet. Did time as a buddy's helper, I had the easy job. Only had to lug rolls of carpet to where it was being installed. He'd do the kicking/stretching, etc. I did tear outs and labor. Buddy is still doing it an he makes good money, but he knows his knee's are going to be done by the time he calls it quits. When me an the wife bought our current place, I had to rip out the carpet, as it was all nasty and torn up. Told the wife straight up..."we are not going back to carpet. I hope you like wood floors.". Screw laying carpet anymore...never again. I'd use other words but I figured I'd give the censor a break. It might run out of *** if you get me going. I can get pretty creative.

This annoys me highly, but...it's when I get to the register. If I'm spending money, in your store, truck stop or not, you can do the simple courtesy of acknowledging me. Maybe it's from having done customer service when I was young, maybe I was raised weird...I dunno, but the lest you can do is say "Hello, did you find everything ok?" We don't need to be friends, or exchange Christmas cards, but you can at lest acknowledge me! Not ignore me til I have to pay while your throwing my stuff in a bag.

Side rant....What are cashiers/baggers thinking trying to put 4 2 liters of soda into one paper bag. No double bag. Then they get pissy when I ask for another bag. You might be mad you gotta hand me another bag, but I'ma be super pissed if it breaks and explodes or I have to chase it around a parking lot.

Or even better....Milk or something heavy in with things that are delicate or squish easily.

I feel better now, thank you.

Sirscrapntruckalot - Yes...I could bring my own bag, but why should I? My purchases aren't any less if I do, only difference is...I do your job. No thanks.

My bad. Here I thought you were talking underlayment as in plywood. I couldnt understand why your knees were hurting. I was going to say use a air nailer.
Carpet? Ok I feel your angst there. Tho the wife and I laid our carpet with out the stretching some 16 years ago. When we get sick of it, we will roll it up and toss it. Do it if you want to. Yet our knees are only hurting from being overweight and growing old.

If you gotta put carpet, thats the way to do it if your doing it yourself. Work smart, not hard.

That is how I would do it, if some miracle happened and I gave in to putting carpet back in our place. No kicking, no seams..etc.

One perk of no carpet here on the sandbar is...no sand in the carpet.

    Be safe out there folks.

Sirscrapntruckalot - Mother Nature looked at covid, riots, etc and people saying 2020 couldn't get worse. Mother Nature upon hearing this said..."Challenge Accepted".

Yep until u meet somebody head on on the corners , come to a complete stop so they can back up. Then u got to start back out in low gear just to get going again and hope u dont miss any when getting back up to speed or ur ####ed .... Im like u i love hearing and feeling my truck work but its the traffic that makes it frustrating , all the corners are blind so u just have to go for it , fast enough to keep ur momentum but slow enough where u could completely stop if u meet somebody halfway thru

I have AC, but it's a swamp at 6:30am. So humid not horribly hot.
