Ok.

So.. 0400 nonstop drive to... Marston, Mo 258 miles.
Under load spout, I call in to say it’s going to be around 1500-1600, depending on load time, for eta back.

“Oh, that load is pushed back to 11:00 tomorrow MORNING.
I shoulda called, but I hated you’d have to go sit that long and...blah blah...blah blah blah......”

Me.. “Click.”



Um.

Yeah, I quit listening, a talent I learned a long time ago.

 

Then people would get the wrong idea and think I’m a nice guy.

I ain’t no nice guy, I’m a jerk..

 

So its 7am and we are on our 30 min break. Couple hours more and we will be empty .

Lol. My mom owned a day care center before she retired. I’ve also learned to block out noise. A bunch of noisy kids will help you perfect that talent. My wife had to learn that about me. I’d be standing right next to her and wouldn’t hear a word she said. After a few years of that she asked, you’re not just ignoring me? You really didnt hear me? She’ll tell you if I zone out that’s it. He’s not faking

 

I had a load to Louisiana but got cancelled due to the hurricane. My dispatcher is afraid of my wife and she threatened him. She said if I went he’s going to get needle in the neck because it’s less messy & quieter than a gun. Lol. He said, “I’ll postpone it until next week”. I said smart man lol

 

They don’t make them like that anymore. All plastic and fiber glass now. I miss my 1971 Chevy caprice
