It was not the day for running New Mexico.
About 100 miles of back-ups. From MM 81 to MM 181. About 30 trucks and various other vehicles wrecked. Think they have every tow truck in the state on that stretch.

 

Parked at a new truckstop under construction (almost open, just nothing in the store yet) last night on (I think 148) near Laporte/Pasadena. Nobody is there except for 5 or 6 trucks. I'll admit I saw the little sign that someone had already backed over saying "no overnight parking" whilst I was taking an end of the day squirt.
I figured, no big deal, when they open, no overnight parking.

Well to make an otherwise long and dramatically punctuated story a bit shorter, at 930 at night while I'm sleeping, Johnny Law bangs on my truck and tells me to move. So, I drive across the street to a warehouse and start my 10 all over again.

So, for the sake of 3 minutes of driving (that last year wouldn't have been recorded), I am now in violation AND I get to start my 10 all over again.

Kinda messed up, frankly. They INSIST that we get our rest, yet have no problem whatsoever waking us up.

Irony used to be funny. Oh, by the way, the name of the place is Swift......not making this up.

 

Pc??? Move at three miles an hour?


I think that is one of those states that is short on hangings. So it best you moved. They have the fill their quota.

 

Not under a load and I don't do 3 mph when I'm driving across a public street with Johnny Law taking notes.

 

After many weeks off We have managed to get to the little fuel stop down the street from the UPS terminal I will be pulling out of without hitting anything, tomorrow we will try it with a trailer.

 

So, so hurtful.
