I didn't realize you lived so close to the coast. Beautiful but brrrrrrrr. A Northeast wind in March will make your nipples fall off.

if your nipples fall off...does that mean one has to enter the nipless protection program?

That NE wind tho is real even here on my sandbar. It'll cut right through you in the winter time. No tall buildings, trees, etc for a wind break. We don't get Nor'easters often here but every now an then we will.

Stay warm and dry up there @lovesthedrive .

Any of you driving up that way, be safe, and for the love of all that is holy....if the conditions suck, stop and have some bacon.

Well sort of close to the water. I am on a penninsula called Sorrento. The property is 150 feet above high tide. So I dont have to worry about flooding. The closest to me water area is Long Cove. The State of Maine cleaned up the park the photographer is at. It used to be the local pickle park. That is until Maine cut down all the trees and removed the privacy. Tho Mr Albee may have had something to do about that as it abutts his property. In this pic the tide is on the way out. Our tides change 14 feet of elevation between high and low tide. My home in this pic cant be seen yet is to the left.

Otherwise the nearest water is about a half mile past the Chafee property to get to Skillings river that has tidal flows between Sorrento and Hancock. The pic is Tidal Falls in the summer. In this pic the tide is going up river. I am standing in Hancock, the other shore is Sullivan.

Our weather is influenced by Frenchmans Bay. We are 10 degrees warmer in the winter and 10 degrees cooler in the summer than the folks inland. So when most of the state may see snow, on the average (unless it si really cold outside) we only get rain here. Frenchmans Bay is only 5 miles deep. Beyond that is the bay of fundy. Yet the bay at 5 miles out (according to local fishermen) has 40 foot ocean swells.

The picture below is where the wife and I got married on the Van Duhsens ( van doo san). Its Nautilus Point. The island in the middle is Bean Isle owned by the Gamble family of Proctor and Gamble. In this pic, to the right is the last of Skillings River. On the other side of Bean Isle is Frenchmans Bay.

You know the funny thing about William Macy? He is a straight Presbeterian. Since Shameless came out? He has been approached by many women thinking he is a lover of all. A interview of him on you tube has him trying to explain. He isnt Frank, he doesnt have any tendencies of Frank.
