What if it Snows?

When are you going to move this big green machine out of the building?
Just park wherever you stop like a typical flatbedder, eh?
It’s been years now, the storage cost is going to be in the thousands.

I’m stuck here, the shippers “mid morning” has now changed to noon.
I explained the difference from mid morning to midday was only about 3 hours.
So I’m going to go eat breakfast, maybe it won’t be changed til mid afternoon, or mid evening, or what if it’s mid day tomorrow!

I’ll be mildly upset.

I guess this mid morning stuff is for the ones who get up at the crack of noon, not my 0500, already watched a cartoon, Rock-a-Doodle from the 90s.

I went to Graceland after a job interview. I was impressed by elvis. A real rock star. Addiction issues, it happens.

 

We are all addicts.
Some are just addicted to worse things the others.
It seems, We are addicted to being used for hours on end and being thought of only when needed, and when the load is done, you are in the way!
You gotta go, now!!

Happened the last load I took to Emporia, sat there 3 hours, got empty, had to stop at guard shack, just to show him I was empty, the same guy who checked me in, pull out his gate, my elog decided to restart.
I stopped out of the way by the fence, and was fiddling with it, and guard guy came up knocking and said “Leave Now, or I call the law.”
I told him my elog was trying to restart, he didn’t care so I told him what he could do with himself.
I haven’t been back, took several loads there, because no one else wanted to go out that far, they want to be home every night.
I stay out during the week if I can line up loads, but I used to stay 3-4 months, I can’t see that I made any more by doing so, though.

There are currently 5 loads going to that dog food place, usually 1-2 week.

 

Well.
Ate.
Got new floor mats.
Spent my hard earned company money and my money.
Still got time to kill, but it’s cold outside, or I could go shine on my wheels, or at least get a badly needed truck wash, it’s been 2 months but it’s been nasty outside or going to a mud pit to load, but the rain has stopped, though it looks like it could snow anytime, supposed to tomorrow, or so I’ve heard.

 

If I wash my truck, I can forecast with 100% probability that it will rain and/or snow within 36-48 hours.

 

I drove about 70 miles in Wisconsin and I just stopped after that . Multiple traffic jams, several trucks jackknifed on the median or side of the road , many cars spun out. And a pileup all within less than 100 miles . I definitely slid a few times as well just going 20-40 mph. And I saw people blazing past me .

I'll try again tomorrow and hope the roads are cleared by sunrise. At least the forecast says it's not supposed to snow again until this coming weekend and by that time I'm hoping I'm somewhere much further south and it's just rain .

I've got hometime scheduled for next Wednesday through super bowl Sunday , supposed to take all my endorsement tests and hazmat enrolment on Thursday and Friday . Hoping the weather won't delay my arrival.

 

We are posted up somewhere between bum f nowhere and Timbuktu.

One hour 10 minutes available. Alamogordo is like an hour 20 minutes.

So we are here. Fortunately we have supplies and a safe place to park until 2300.

Must get over mountain thingy though. Spitting snow now.
