You know, some people are just plain stupid.
No Excuse.
I bought 10 tires, and the tires on it are still good, I’ll keep them, load them myself in the back of the pickup, and later swap out those recaps on the KW, that the shop STILL haven’t touched.
Of course the 2 guys who get to swap the tires aren’t happy and have voiced their concern to me.
“I don’t know why youse gonna change all 10 these tires, make a brotha works himself to death while you sits back and don’t doose a thang.
Youse can take yo business elsewheres.”
me
“I could, but then I’d rob you of your jobs, you’d have to go on unemployment.”
Tire change guy responds.
“Psh, I gets paid if’in I change tires or not.”
Me
“Eventually though, without monies coming into the store, say my $4500 or so for tires, your boss couldn’t pay you to sit here and play cards.”
Tire change guy.
“I dun care, I get my money.
You don’t have to do any work.”
Me
“I’m working right now, and creating jobs, I’m supervising, it’s a tough job, thankless and no benefits, but somebody has to do it.”
Other tire guy.
“I don’t know why you bring this here, there’s another place a mile from here up the street.”
me
“I don’t like their service, besides, I gotta keep you guys your job, here.”
The things any one person has to put up with, I tell ya what.

That's the best plan. They own quite a bit of land, not just right-of-way but timber ground and land that just sits fallow. We've logged and built roads for them a little and they're like working for the military...lots of overlapping levels of management who never agree with each other and tons of rules and red tape.
And nuclear power plants? Here's one in my neighbor hood....
Humboldt Bay Nuclear Power Plant - Wikipedia
When the plant was up and running they discharged millions of gallons of water back into the bay. It changed the temperature of the bay to the point where several species of fish quit coming in to spawn. The entire ecology of the bay and the surrounding waters were changed...and not for the better.
The plant was experimental and they felt that if they wiped out a few loggers and dairy farmers in the upper left hand corner of the state that it wouldn't really do much harm. The fact that the prevailing winds are westerly and would have blown any fallout right straight east never meant much to them I guess.
It finally dawned on them that they were sitting pretty much on a main spur of the San Andreas Fault and closed it down.
PG-E is not popular here.

So many people don’t understand what makes the world go around. The latest version I ran into was a young guy at Ram heaven in the engineering department he was grousing about doing some work on the trailer ( display abilities being improved) said he could care less about how the sales tour went. Guess he’s another one that thinks it’s a good deal if sales slow down because there will be less work for him can’t make the connection to the reality that poor sales could mean no job.
