Back in 2000, when I bought my first Classic, I called highway sales. Werners used Truck Lot. I’ve mentioned this many times. At risk of being an aggravation. They told Me based on their fleet, of 3500 Trucks, the difference between the Century and Classic was a real .5 mpg. All things being equal, with12.7 Detroit’s. 6.5 vs. 7 mpg. He would have rather sold a Century, as they had more of them, and were a tougher sell. But suggested a Classic for better resale. I never did buy a Werner Truck. The choice was clear to Me though. I like the W9s, but they’ a lot more expensive. Resale value isn’t a real concern of mine. If it were, I wouldn’t buy a new Freightliner. Have to be a KW.
