    I think I handled that..issue.
I don’t see the big deal
He got caught with chewing tobacco/dip.
    He’s 17..
I don’t know where he got it, supposed to be what 21 now?
Anyway, I just said I better not hear of you bumming, you do it, you better buy it & you better not be caught spitting in front of mom.
But, you’d have thought he’d been caught with weed...or worse.
So, I told him either learn to keep a bunch of nasty spit, drink it or don’t do it and quit carrying it in your back pocket, I mean wth, you wanna get beat up by a mad woman, and I will not save him again. She’s gonna wear you out with a belt or no truck to drive and be riding the school bus or both.

    So.
She wanted to know what I told him.
I told her next time she sees him just wear him out with a belt, he knows better.
I know he’ll keep doing it no matter what, I used to smoke when I was 17, That don’t make it right, but still.

I might do a challenge, as I used to use trophy chewing tobacco years ago, though I don’t get hooked on anything, if he can out last me on no spitting tobacco keep it up.

Their changing the age to 18 was a BS move, and I don't use tobacco. He's still too young, legally, but then how many of us drank before we legally could, smoked, dipped, etc...? On the other hand she needs to understand and accept that at 17 if he wants to enjoy something he will, whether she likes it or not. I was fortunate in some ways of not having much oversight, the rules were basically "if you're old enough to make that decision, you're old enough to pay the consequences".

    I told her same thing.
We had him when neither of us was old enough to drink, we were 20, she’s almost 6 months older, she was robbing the cradle.
I came home once drunk, I was 17 and I was late, not let in, and slept on the porch.
Almost got ate alive by mosquitos.
But I learned, don’t miss curfew.

I didn't even have a curfew, I actually learned how to pick a basic door lock using the rake method with modified kitchen knife when I was 10ish, after that I was given a door key. My mom was passed out in a drunken stupor and didn't pick me up from a UIL event so I walked the 2 miles home. Dad was an OTR guy who stayed out 3-4 months at a time (to avoid her I think), so my sister and I raised ourselves mostly.

Times are different, but kids wanting to grow up too fast, and people wanting to enjoy forbidden fruits hasn't changed.

Speaking of forbidden fruits, I've got 4 bottles of Miller Lite sitting in a bucket of ice while I wait for my lasagna, pizza, and Canolis. I am OUT of that ###### coffin! Flight for home in the morning, and I intend to enjoy this reset.

I think some forget what it’s like to be young.
Not a care in the world, no big bills, no kids caught with tobacco products. :p

No big bills? Sign me up. Have your kid try zyn, tobacco free, and the buzz off it will make your head spin.

The rule at our house was 15 yrs old to smoke. Outside only. They already knew we all smoked, just didn’t want to see it till we were 15. My Father had remarried. Together they had 5 teenagers under one roof, and a couple little ones. For a couple years we were a dysfunctional version of the Brady Bunch.

Check out Bigrigworld.com, they currently have Sears Atlas II on sale. Similar to the Pinnacle, as far as travel distance, Lumbar, also has best prices I can find on Pinnacle. Located in Hubbard Ohio, across from the Loves. I probably wait till I’m in the area, and pick up a couple of one or the other. Put them in myself at Truckworld, if I have to.
