Ok.
Another long day yesterday,
Waiting to load today, maybe just be the one, it’s only 142 miles and ends within 20 miles from home.

its been one of those weeks that nothing has gone right.
Not quite as bad as the below situation would be...

Ok, I need to know if I was the Richard today, or if I was just dealing with a bunch of Karens. Driving East on I-40 in AR. Construction ahead. Signs saying a merge in 3 miles. Everyone is in the left lane. THREE miles back from the actual merge. Right lane is clear. So I keep tooling along. Another trucker pulls out of the left lane to block my forward progress and keep his spot with the left lane. Still over a mile to the merge. I asked him to move or get back over. He got pissy. I know I shouldn't have, but I made it 3 wide lane using the shoulder and passed him. Continuing on up to the actual sign that says merge now. The whole time this driver and several others are saying I am in the wrong.

My viewpoint. The merge ahead signs are warning signs. Just like Stop ahead, or traffic light ahead. They are telling you that you need to be cautious and prepared to take action. Till you get to the actual merge sign, stop sign, or traffic light. Same as a "reduced speed ahead" sign. It's telling you to be ready to slow down by the time you get to that sign. Traffic was backed up way farther than it needed to be due to these morons. Was I in the wrong? Or were they just whining Karens?

Some will tell you that what you did is the correct way, others will say you were wrong. I lean to the later... The reason is that as long as traffic is in one lane single file it will flow much faster and safer than idiots trying to force a merge at the last minute.

Just today I was in a 10 mile backup. Most everyone was single file and it was flowing at about 35 mph... Then about 50 vehicles dexided to zip up the empty lane, about 8 mins later flow dropped to a crawl for nearly 30 mins. Then it picked up to about 35 mph again. Once again 50 or so vehicles came zipping up the empty lane and flow again came to a crawl. A few of us were trying to block the open lane but 4 wheelers and even a few trucks would just go off into the dirt to go around...

As stated above by someone else... It goes much faster when everyone just gets into the lane that will remain open. Unless you are going to take an exit BEFORE losing the lane your best bet is to get in line like everyone else.

And this is why we have always had a truck or more in the open lane to hold back traffic. Unfortunate for a few of these guys that have got tickets for that. S o now we have the zipper merge, where in some places they have signs telling us to use both lanes to the merge spot. Then take turns. Great idea. Well, in theory anyway. But from what I have seen here you see so many trucks getting into the lane that will remain open, that you have all the cars passing in the other lane. I think the only way that this type of merge could work would be if the trucks were to split up into both lanes in pretty equal numbers. Yep, not gonna happen. So the more they try to change the merging tactics, the more they stay the same.
As far as @Wasted Thyme's question, there was a time when he got to the merge by passing the other trucks on the right, no one except a 4 wheeler would have let him in.

No cartridge projectiles. No cartridges in the way we think of them now. They are developing something with the cartridge-less technology now to replace the 240 SAW.
Higher, cooler, rate of fire, and the ammo weighs a fraction of what ammo weighs now.

That metal storm has been around for awhile. Think it's electromagnetic.
