My thoughts are along the lines of @Cattleman84. Look and ##### the situation. Figure out the best way to blend in.......

Zipper merge won't work if the through lane does not space out enough to allow the merge line to merge.......

Both lanes can be equally to blame. The prink that waits to the last second to cut in (and the guy tail gating that one to get one more car ahead)...... And the self entitled prink with the outlook of "I merged a half mile back I'll be "NSFW edit" if I let you in, so will tail gate the guy in front of me" those are both fundamentally wrong!

My personal perspective is driving should be a type of cooperative play not a competition. Everybody SHOULD be trying to get to the next destination with minimal annoyance to others. We all know that aint going to happen, but it should be a worthwhile goal.

For a bad hanger or cable spring fix, nothing beats a bungie and some black tape, and roll on....

 

I lived in oil trough years ago.. can be done, 102 wide takes up all the lane though has the two sharp curves you gotta be careful, one is more forgiving as it doesn’t have a ditch that the trailer will shortcut through.
I’m only about 30 miles from there now
