Now you know why they wear flip flops.

A hundred million Russians can't be wrong.

Well, I had them off once, some Chicago land guy in a white Volvo got lost, I helped him get turned around in the dark with my rechargeable flashlight, course my appreciation was boots that wanted to continue to work long after I’m done.

I got back in "my truck" tonight, and out of the "drive this one until they fix the other one" truck.

I think they rebuilt this Eaton into a sportscar transmission. Instead of big old throws between gears, now its like 1" into neutral, over 1 1/2", and another 1" into the next gear. Flip of the wrist, no other arm motion needed. Sometimes have to touch the clutch to get it to slip on some gears. Not sure if thats a good or bad thing yet, but it might make a difference on a 13 speed.

    Its good to be home.

All that talking about bathrooms and septics reminded me of a story someone told me about once going fishing way up north. Seems the tundra there is froze year round, but people still need to pooop. So, the toilets incinerate whatevers deposited, with no solid emissions after the fact.

Apparently this guy absentmindedly "flushed" before he got up, he heard a whoosh, he jumped up and suddenly there were flames coming up out of the toilet.

Still had his eyebrows when he told me the story though.

All the talk about Lumber prices. Today I saw with my own eyes. 3/8” BCX plywood 4x8 sheet $49.99. 3/4” marine plywood $107.99. Suddenly my scrap Lumber pile is a pile of gold. I can’t see anyone doing a project right now. Unless absolutely necessary.

My Mom and her husband once considered moving outside Phoenix. Great price on Land, about 20 yrs ago. Till he priced drilling a well! Lol I can’t remember, but it was hundreds of feet, maybe 1000. I thought mine was deep at 100 ft.

As I recall, 8 yrs ago. I paid $15 a sheet for 4 ply 1/2”, and $23 for the 3/4” T&G sturdi floor. $23 seemed expensive for T&G as, regular 4x8 3/4” plywood was $18. Here’s today’s prices. Glad I sprung for the T&G now. It’s all in my garage still. Need to make room to bring it in, and open up room in the garage. Much easier to work on an empty house. Remodeling is bad enough, with demolition, easier to build from scratch. Having all your furnishings/ supplies in the way, really makes it even harder.

I made that observation when I bought my first fixer upper.
There were many ideas, but mine prevailed in that we tore it apart and put it back together ( the inside ) before we ever moved in.

I can't imagine trying to do it living there.

Now I will say the dude that redid my current bathroom and all the bad sub flooring in the bathroom and kitchen was wtf talented.

He had all the sub flooring torn out and replaced and new toilet installed in one day.

Didn't have the vanity done. But that was OK cause still the sink in the kitchen. He didn't have to fool with the tub either.

The OM is eating my coffee cake. Normally I'd think that to abnormal.

But, it is The OM. And this is trucking.

Well I left my will pair sleeper birth button "on". The 8/2 sleeper split doesn't work now, even after undoing the the "Will pair SB". So I have to finish my 10 to get hours. I could use the "will pair sleeper". But then I will have to sit for 7 hours to get back my 14. I only have 2 53 left on yesterday's 11. This situation may cause me to be late by 15 minutes from my 8 am appointment. Plus lots of Tain.
