Beautiful site here at the Pilot. Big empty parking Lot. Been idling my new engine for 10 hrs. Seems to be running pretty good. Pulling the hills. I’ll be happy to get 6 mpg. Mpg’s have been all over the place, 4.5-6.8. Only have 45k on the engine. Another 25k and an Overhead adjustment, will tell what mpg Will be. Historically it’s best has been 5.4-6.2, usually 5-5.5. After it’s broken in good, maybe I’ll get a “Tune” that I hear so much about. Get a real comparison. 6.5 for non arodynamic, and 7 for arodyamic Trucks has always been the norm for 12.7s. It’s the idling that really hurts the mpgs. This one seems to burn a bit over a gallon per hr. My last one burned about 8/10s . Must be the Low Nox program, Last one didn’t have it, till after it was inframed. Only drove it 50k, before wrecking it.

I’d like to get the bunk cabinets out of one of the newer Trucks. I’m sitting here, looking at my dash. I have all the lower panel off. Looks awful! I have a leak around the Drivers windshield that won’t quit. New seal. Looked everywhere, Been wanting to fix the leak, before insulating the firewall, and doing the floor and putting panels back. But for now, looks like passengers window regulator is bad. So it goes. A nice turn key brand new Truck is tempting.

I don't know when guys like yourself that seem to be forever wrenching on the truck find time to drive.

No. No. No. The most AWESOME State. Not the most wtf whacked State.

We may or may not be RETURNING TO THE COMMUNIST STATE now, because this shipper has product on the truck that goes to a different city.

That’s just it, I’m not constantly wrenching. I fix what’s necessary, put up with the rest. Keep a list of wants. Seems like I don’t get much done, till I find an old list. Believe it or not, I’ve rarely lost any working time. That’s the challenge and the goal. Always make the trip. But I keep a bunch of tools, and really save time by avoiding Shops. When at home, I avoid the Truck. Only cranked it up 3 times in 10 weeks I took off. It’s very dependable. Just the little aggravating stuff that gets Me. Always wanted a Truck that had everything I need, and no payments. Going on 9 yrs now. No payment. It only pays off in the long run.
