Reminisces of running West Point, MS to Waterloo in the 50's in snowy weather. Fruehauf cattle van (Black one in old Avatar), clearance light top back roadside. IA had a lot of 8 inch angled/beveled curbs on IA218 to guide the drainage downhill. These would run thru some of the longer bridges. Two Fruehauf's of that vintage, meet on a bridge, curb had your drive climbing the curb and tilted the trailer top in toward center. Another Fruehauf (or similar build) meets you. Both of you are against the curb and tilted inward. Mirrors OK, but a lot of left top clearance lenses scattered.

It’s like on us63 North of Rolla Mo.
Sign says 10ft clearance, I think they can’t measure, maybe from the top of the concrete barrier, my trailer 102 so 8.5 ft takes whole lane, you meet another truck on it everyone stops, you can see tire marks all over those barriers.

One child, the future trucker was going to let me have it. The other sibling, the future freight broker quickly snatched it away however.

That storm ripped through here last night. 80 mph gusts. Lots of branches down, a few miles away. 3-4” rain. Same freeways flooded. 3 rd time I- 94 near 192 mm, been flooded in 2 mos. Some power out, we got lucky. No damage. Tomorrow the humidity drops. Going to be a perfect next few days.

I forgot to mention that a hotshot driver took one for the team today and helped us avoid getting inspected at the scale just south of boulder montana. He was out talking with the officer holding a piece of paper, assuming it was an inspection report and we got waved thru.

    Well, this certainly blows.......

The right rear tire on this trailer decided to blow out, just 1.5 hours from breakfast at the North 40 and........

......about 20 miles north of Nashville.

The whole key to this exercise was getting through Nashville while most of the indigenous population slept.

That's shot in the ###, now.

Partner bumped the dock at 0200 for a FCFS receiver in Denver that opens at 0700. Once we are done here taking the truck for services and looking at load for tomorrow hopefully. Back to previously scheduled sleep.
