Back at the same company I was working for before I retired. My assigned truck will be a 386 Pete with a sleeper, for now anyway. If and when the Pete stealership ever gets a fuel pressure issue fixed. So with a sleeper I will probably get some out and back overnights occasionally. But most of our work is local and so far I've been home everyday. I'm not gonna work real hard. Too old for that work hard crap.

I’m still in Florida. Aggravating place to find a load. Been dodging bad weather all week. So far so good. Haven’t hit any of it.

So. Went and got bbq at one of my favorite joints. Ordered a half pound of brisket. Half pint of cole slaw and tater salad. Lots of pickles and onions and jalapeños. Got it back to the hotel and found cole slaw. Tater salad and one effing brisket sandwich. To the tune of 23.57. Too far to go back.
    Welcome to Austin

    Leaving tomorrow. YAY

    I'm back....
Come up to Round Rock ,take 79 up to Taylor, TX. Keep straight going in as its called 2nd St.
Go 2 or 3 blocks in and watch on left. Should be a vacant lot where a building was removed long ago,
and then an old store building.
That is/was Louie Mueller Bar B Que. (Louie Mueller Barbecue—Best BBQ In Texas Ships Nationwide). Claim to be the best in TX.
Inside; to the left, they have an indicated line up along an old counter. You shuffle forward and as you near
the back there is this sign on the front of the counter. It says: By the time you get here, you should know
what you want to order. (Red paint-Big size). One man looking at you for what you want, one behind him taking
what you ordered off the pit handing it forward, and a lady working the modern (only thing in there modern)
computerized scale and collecting your money. Ample places to sit. No A/C, but many ceiling fans.
Hours of operation used to b stated as: From the time the meat is done in the morning (I deduced 11:00AM)
till the meat sells out. Try it if practical and report.

My son and I were fishing the other week and we were close enough to a sort of legendary island known for crab cakes. Thought it would be nice to take my son there and buy 3 crab cake sandwiches to take home so his mom didn't have to cook. Cost me 63.50 for three sandwiches and they didn't even come with a bag of chips.
