I mostly haul paletized freight. On my 48ft flat i would start at the marker light and work out. Or if its 12 pallets for example id tell em 6 in the front 6 in the back and it would be dead on the money every single time... step deck ive tried the marker light and work out. Heavy on trailer. Ive tried even number up front and back. Heavy on trailer. Ive tried loading starting from the bottom of the deck and work backwards. Heavy on drives... its a never ending battle... its that 10ft top deck and extra 5 ft of trailer in the back that messes me up. I havent quite figured it out yetVic Firth, LoSt_AgAiN, lovesthedrive and 5 others Thank this.

You’re going center, but it’s not center, cause of top, try 2.5 ft infront of center.
Going center will throw heavy on trailer, about 10k on that top of drop deck used to be max.Vic Firth, DrFlush, LoSt_AgAiN and 5 others Thank this. -

why the step if your hauling palletized?
wirh 12 pallets could you put 6 starting at the step going back and the 6 starting right in front of the back axle going forward…?LoSt_AgAiN, lovesthedrive, Dale thompson and 1 other person Thank this. -
I haul all kinds of ####. And we have customers that only load a step. But really im on a step right now because thats all they had in the yard for me to use. Theres like 5 guys with this company that pull a flatbed. And i was 1.
But no. for some reason loading like that puts trailer at like 42k and drives at 25k. Learned that one the hard way already.Vic Firth, InTooDeep, LoSt_AgAiN and 6 others Thank this. -
Start 4 to 6 feet forward of center and work out... Or 2/3 on rear, 1/3 on front. See how that works out for ya.Vic Firth, InTooDeep, LoSt_AgAiN and 4 others Thank this.

I think that is my problem i dont understand where the center of the trailer is at. It should be the marker light. But it doesnt work that way ? Guess i should just measure out 26.5 ft. I dont ever remeber having this much difficulty when i ran a stepdeck with the last company i was with. Just another reason why flatbeds are way betterVic Firth, InTooDeep, LoSt_AgAiN and 5 others Thank this.
