So they are doing there jobs correctly, and verifying that you are available for the Golden ticket load?

That is a refreshing change from the typical stories I hear.

Most generally. But occasionally something throw a wrench in the works. The load I'm currently under is a 4 day round trip in our local/regional area. It was originally dispatched to another driver, but apparently his wife said something to the effect of... "That load or me!"

So I got a call at 1700 Friday evening while I was on my roof working on the chimney... Now I'm between Yakima and Ellensburg, WA, delivery is at 0300 tomorrow in the greater Seattle area.

Edit: Only 3 dispatcher in the company. 1 does local/regional, 1 does East Bound, 1 does West bound. OTR drivers deal with all 3, local drivers generally only deal with one but occasionally help the East Bound dispatcher by preloading trailers.

Ouch, I'm too old and grumpy for that noise, I woulda kept the load.

I'll just step outside now and give a wave of support eastward in your general direction.

My wife has been around trucking her entire life, so she knows better... Her Dad was an OTR Trucker for nearly 40 years with nearly 5 million miles. If she needs me to be home on a specific day or only gone for so long, she knows to let me know at least 10 days out.
