Sometimes I've had old hands at plants tell me to "put your tankwagon over there under that rack" or "back your tankwagon up into that containment area." Just a regular 42' tanker, so I'm not sure what exactly people mean when they say it.

I've seen the California trailers out west. In Wyoming I often see double tankers, and also what look like 53' tankers with triple or sometimes quadruple axles. I think I've even seen one of the long trailers with a shorter pup tanker, like a Rocky Mountain double, only tankers instead of boxes.

Edit: found a picture of one in Utah:

Here's a story about that one time that @G13Tomcat took a wrong turn with his 3257 HOT load that shows a double tanker.

Two-trailer tanker gets stuck on Casper Mountain, creates road blockage (PHOTOS)

Right concept, wrong state. Mine was more like Chewy's... LoL. Here's my NEXT 'tank wagon' .. they haul into our 'paper plants' here in Ohio, to do some 'cleaning' of some sort...

I’ve seen rocky mtn doubles as Far East as Sioux City hauling UAN.

out west you see a lot of truck/trailer.

Truck/trailer is where it’s at. You can get them anywhere AND you can back them up. With some practice... they have two pivot points. I’ve also pulled double tanks like the previous pictured. They take turns much better than a truck/trailer but your not backing them. Be sure you know where your goin.

Yeah I pull machines on a pintle hitch trailer behind a dump truck. You barely have to swing wide.

    Truck trailer> 5th wheel

Only downside is they suck to hook up until you are used to it.

It is not as hard as you would think although any workers too close to the inlet will loose a boot once in a while, most of the time without the leg...suck up cinder blocks like a vacuum cleaner pulling in lint...

    Where's 'here?' LoL. j/k.

ps: I've pulled doubles for FX/LH many years ago, but the tank doubles (Rocky Mountain vs. Turnpikes.. Yeah.. nope... I'm good.) Pintlehooks, dollies, never a problem. Idiots pulling in bobtails at the rest area in the 'doubles' area.. << problem. Too much creativity for my liking, LoL. (there's a thread on that here, somewhere....btw!) ;)

Mn is here. I think they make 36 an hour if they are operating engineers. You gotta get muddy but f it.

I wouldn’t mind pulling rocky doubles, especially the belly dumps. That’s cake work, just ride in front of a mill all day while it spits asphalt in the trailers. I think they can haul 40 tons... I can haul 18 in my quad lol.
